Your portal's notification settings control who gets emailed and when. Navigate to Administration → Account Settings to find these options.
After a document is signed, send email notifications to
Determines who receives an email alert when all signers have completed a file. Most portals set this to All so the file owner and any CCs are notified.
Notify owner after each signature when multiple signatures are required
When checked, the file owner receives an email after every individual signature — not just after all signing is complete. Useful for multi-signer workflows where you need real-time progress updates.
Include signed documents
Controls how signed documents appear in the completion notification email:
- Do not include: Signed documents are only accessible by logging in to the portal.
- As Attachment: The signed PDF is attached to the notification email. If the file is too large, it automatically reverts to a link.
- As link in message: A link to the signed file is included in the notification email.
Automatically email additional signers when docs are ready for them
When checked, the system automatically sends invite emails to the next signer level once the previous level has signed. If unchecked, you will need to manually notify the next signer.

Notify CC after each signature when multiple signatures are required
When checked, all CC recipients receive an email notification each time any signer signs the documents. When unchecked, CC recipients receive no notifications during the signing process.

Send return receipt notification to sender when signer accesses document
When checked, the file owner receives an email when a signer opens the signing email and accesses the document. This is commonly called a "Delivery Receipt."Important: this notification is triggered when the signer opens and views the document — NOT when Sertifi delivers the email to the signer's inbox.
Emails to Carbon Copy when any signature request is sent
Email addresses entered here are automatically added as CC recipients on every file sent from this portal. They do not need to be added manually each time.
Change reply-to address for invite emails
When a signer clicks Reply on a Sertifi invitation email, their reply normally goes to the file owner's email address. You can change this to route replies to a different address — for example, a shared inbox or front desk email.
Send payment notifications to
Determines who receives a notification when a payment is made. Options: Payer, Other Signers, CCs, or Owner.
