Overview
Real Time Updates (RTU) connects your Sertifi Classic portal to your Salesforce org. When enabled, Sertifi automatically pushes events (documents signed, payments completed, folders created) to your Salesforce records in real time.
Only a Super Admin with Salesforce org credentials can set up or reconnect RTU.
How to connect Real Time Updates
- Log in to your Sertifi Classic portal.
- Go to Administration > Account Settings > Real Time Updates.
- From the dropdown, select Salesforce OAuth2.
- Fill in the following fields:
- Failure Notification Email — enter an email address to receive alerts if the Salesforce connection breaks. This is important — without it, integration failures go unnoticed.
- Instance Type — select Standard (production org), Sandbox (test org), or Custom Instance (if you have a custom Salesforce domain — enter your prefix).
- Click Connect.
- Enter your Salesforce credentials when prompted.
- Once connected, click Test to confirm the integration is working. A successful result will show a green confirmation message.
How to test an existing connection
- Go to Administration > Account Settings > Real Time Updates.
- Click Test.
- If successful, the result shows "Successful."
- If unsuccessful, an error message appears in red — note the message and contact Sertifi Support.
How to disconnect or change the connected org
If your property has changed management, rebranded, or migrated to a new Salesforce org, do not simply reconnect to the new org without completing the full rebrand process first. Contact Sertifi Support before making changes.
To disconnect the current org:
- Go to Administration > Account Settings > Real Time Updates.
- Use the dropdown at the top and select None.
- Click Save Changes.
Then contact Sertifi Support to proceed with the reconnection to the new org.
