Timeout period
A document will time out after 13 minutes and 54 seconds (834 seconds) of inactivity — meaning no mouse movement, scrolling, or interaction on the page.
How to avoid a timeout
The timer resets any time the user takes any action — moving the mouse, scrolling, or clicking. As long as the signer is actively working on the document, they will not experience a timeout.
Why this limit exists
PCI compliance guidelines require a session timeout on pages that collect payment or sensitive information. This limit cannot be increased.
What happens after a timeout?
The signer will need to reopen the document from their original email link and start again. Any information already entered will need to be re-entered.
