Overview
Every completed document in Sertifi includes a built-in audit trail, but you can also perform additional identity verification using free external tools.
Built-in verification
The File Activity Certificate records every action on the document — including the signer's IP address, timestamp, and the device used. This is your primary legal record of the signature.
Additional verification using IP lookup
If you need to go further, you can look up the signer's IP address (found in the File Activity Certificate) using a free service such as whatismyipaddress.com or iplocation.net. These tools show the general location associated with the IP at the time of signing.
