What causes this
This error typically means the signed PDF needs to be regenerated. It can occur when the PDF conversion did not complete fully after signing, or when the document contains conflicting signature tags (such as Adobe Sign fields mixed with Sertifi fields).
How to fix it
Contact Sertifi Support — we can regenerate the document from the file room, which resolves the issue in most cases. Once regenerated, you will be able to open and download the signed PDF directly.
How to request a fix
Email support@sertifi.com with:
- Your Document ID (format: 20250304...) or the folder URL
- A description of the error you are seeing
Prevention
If your document was built using Adobe Sign signature fields, these can conflict with Sertifi's signing engine. We recommend rebuilding the template using native Sertifi signature tags. Contact Support for help with this.
