Overview
If a guest's credit card authorization form is submitted after they have already checked out and their folio has been closed, Opera will prevent Sertifi from posting the payment. This is an Opera-side restriction.
Error Message
"Make Payment is not allowed for reservation with status Checked Out with closed Folio and No Show"
What This Means
Once a guest has checked out and their folio is closed in Opera, no additional charges can be posted to it. This is a standard Opera rule and applies to all payment methods, not just Sertifi.
What Your Property Can Do
You have two options:
Option 1: Reopen the Folio
An Opera administrator can manually reopen the guest's folio. Once reopened, Sertifi can push the payment to the reservation. Contact your Opera administrator or front office manager to request this.
Option 2: Update Opera Settings to Allow Post-Checkout Charges
If this is a recurring need at your property, your Opera administrator can update your cashiering settings to allow charges to be posted to checked-out reservations:
- In Opera, navigate to Application Settings > Cashiering.
- Enable the options for PRE and POST CHECK-INS.
- Enable the OPEN FOLIO (PARMS) option.
Contact your Oracle representative if you need assistance locating or changing these settings.
