Overview
If Sertifi cannot establish a secure connection to your Opera server, you may see an SSL or TLS error. This typically means the SSL certificate on your Opera OWS server has expired or is not trusted.
Error Messages
- "PROCESSING ERROR: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel."
- "CREDIT CARD INTERFACE TIMEOUT WHILE VALIDATING CREDIT CARD... errorMsg: WebException in HTTP Call - The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel."
What This Means
Your Opera OWS server's SSL certificate has expired or is invalid. Sertifi cannot communicate securely with your server until the certificate is renewed and reinstalled.
You can confirm this by copying your Opera endpoint URL and pasting it into a web browser. If the browser displays a security or privacy error stating the certificate has expired, that confirms the issue.
What Your Property Needs to Do
Your IT team or Oracle representative will need to:
- Obtain a new, valid SSL certificate for your Opera OWS server.
- Install the new certificate on the server.
- Verify the connection is restored.
For the credit card interface timeout version of this error, you will also need to ensure that OPI (Oracle Payment Interface) certificates are properly applied on your OWS server. Contact your payment gateway provider (such as Shift4) to obtain the correct certificates.
Need Help?
Contact Sertifi Support after the certificate has been renewed. We can test the connection from our side to confirm the integration is working again.
