Overview
You can send Sertifi documents for signature or payment directly from Salesforce Classic using the Sertifi E-Sign button. This article explains how to send, what each step does, and common issues to check if something is not working.
Before you start
- Confirm the Sertifi E-Sign button is visible on your record. If it is not, see: Salesforce — Sertifi Button Not Appearing.
- Confirm Real Time Updates is connected so your Salesforce records update when documents are signed. See: How to Set Up Real Time Updates.
How to send a document
- Open the Salesforce record (Booking, Opportunity, or Account) you want to send from.
- Click the Sertifi E-Sign button.
- The Sertifi sending window will open. Add participants by searching your contact list or typing an email address directly.
- Upload your document or select one from your document library.
- Add any payment requests if needed.
- Review the send details and click Send Now.
The participant will receive an email invitation to review and sign the document.
Checking document status
- Open the Salesforce record the document was sent from.
- Look for the Sertifi section — it will show the current status of each document (Sent, Opened, Signed, Expired).
- You can also log in to your Sertifi Classic portal and go to Home > View All Files to see the full list.
Common issues
- Can only add email from contact list — see: Salesforce — Can Only Add Email from Contact List
- Document not appearing in Sertifi after sending — check Real Time Updates is connected
- "Can't find settings" error — see: Salesforce Integration — Common Errors
- File too large to upload — Salesforce has a 6MB limit for single real-time operations. Reduce your file size before sending.
